With more than 250 Selects alums across Division-I men’s and women’s hockey, we highlight some of the standout performances from last week with a closer look at the college landscape.
In Hockey East, Veronika Pettey was named Player of the Week for the Northeastern Huskies. The sophomore forward extended her season-opening point-streak to six straight games with two assists on Friday in a 3-0 win over No. 10 Maine, before adding a goal on Sunday in a 3-1 victory at New Hampshire.
Loren Gabel also earned ECAC Player of the Week honors after she became the all-time leading goal scorer in Clarkson program history on Saturday afternoon. The senior finished the weekend with two goals and two assists, inculding a power-play goal and a game-winning goal.
The University of Wisconsin took over the top spot in the latest women’s hockey rankings. With more Selects alums on their roster than any other team (15), the Badgers boast an 8-0-0 record scoring a robust 41 goals — most in college hockey — and allowing just 12 goals against.
