Last week, USA Hockey announced the 44 players that will participate in the 2018 USA Hockey Women’s Winter Training Camp, which will take place Dec. 17-21 at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan.
The annual training camp serves as an opportunity to help the top players prepare for upcoming international events, including the 2019 IIHF Women’s World Championship.
Highlighting the roster for the Women’s Winter Training Camp are 22 members of the championship-winning 2018 Four Nations Cup roster, as well as 22 Olympians.
Among them are former Selects players and current NCAA defensemen Cayla Barnes (Boston College), Jincy Dunne (Ohio State University) and Maddie Rolfes (University of Wisconsin). Up front, Claire DeGeorge (Bemidji State University), Maureen Murphy (Providence College), Melissa Samoskevish (Quinnipiac University), Sophia Shaver (University of Wisconsin) and Grace Zumwinkle (University of Minnesota) are among the 24 forwards attending camp. Lindsay Reed (Harvard University) is the lone Selects alum among the six goaltenders vying for a roster spot.
