The Girls’ North American Prospects Showcase (NAPS) in Rochester, New York, is a premier Summer event for youth hockey players with elite-level talent and is highly-scouted by Division-I schools. With weekend tournaments for the ‘04-to-’07 age groups that began on Friday, the Selects program was well-represented with three Selects teams at both the ‘04 Division and ‘05 Division as well as two SHD-Western New York teams at the ‘05 Division. Additionally, an Ontario Selects team is competing in all four divisions and 11 Jr. Selects teams are in the ‘06 and ‘07 Divisions.
In all, 21 teams at this year’s Girls’ NAPS stem from our Selects program. There are more than 40 college scouts expected to be on-hand for this weekend’s event with many starting to fill the rink early Friday afternoon. From Boston University to North Dakota, Ohio State to Harvard and everything in between, the 2018 NAPS-Rochester event is only getting started and certainly will pick up steam tomorrow when ‘02 and ‘03 girls take to the ice for the showcase portion of the weekend, working on-ice with college coaches at Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex.
