Hockey Canada released its list of 34 players invited to the National Junior Team Selection Camp slated to begin Dec. 11th in Victoria, British Columbia. Among them were four Selects alumni who will compete for a chance to represent Canada at the 2019 IIHF World Junior Championships.

Former ‘99 Western Canada Selects forward and 2017 first round draft pick of the Vegas Golden Knights, Cody Glass earned an invite to camp. The 6-foot-2 center for the Portland Winterhawks currently has 11 goals and 40 points in 24 games in the Western Hockey League (WHL).

A pair of Ontario Hockey League (OHL) forwards and Selects alums Ryan Suzuki (‘01 West Coast Selects) and Owen Tippett (‘99 East Coast Selects-O) will head to camp, with both having represented Canada at the U-17 World Hockey Championships. Tippett is a 2017 first round draft pick of the Florida Panthers and Suzuki is NHL Draft eligible for 2019 in Vancouver.

Also draft eligible in the summer is ‘00 East Coast Selects-Q forward Raphaël Lavoie. The 6-foot-4 Montreal native has 14 goals and 29 points in 26 games for the Halifax Mooseheads in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).
