With more than 250 Selects alums across Division-I men’s and women’s hockey, we highlight some of the standout performances from last week and other recent news with a closer look at the college landscape.

Selects alumni made a clean sweep through the women’s WCHA weekly awards, as Grace Zumwinkle was named Forward of the Week along with Mekenzie Steffen earning Defenseman of the Week and Kristen Campbell receiving Goalie of the Week honors.

Zumwinkle led the conference in points last weekend, totaling four in two games for Minnesota. Steffen tallied a pair of goals from the blue line to help the No. 1 ranked Wisconsin Badgers win on Friday night while her goaltender and fellow Selects alum Campbell posted a pair of wins, including her fifth shutout of the season.

Loren Gabel earned Player of the Week honors in the ECAC after she recorded her 100th career goal at Clarkson. The senior racked up seven points including the game-winning goals in both games over Harvard and helping the Golden Knights extend their winning streak to six straight games.

Sophomore defenseman Skylar Fontaine netted the game-tying goal in Northeastern’s 2-1 win over Vermont on Friday. She also added two assists over the weekend to earn Hockey East Defenseman of the Week.

Former ‘98 ECS-Q forward Jack Badini was named ECAC Forward of the Week after he led Harvard to a pair of wins. The sophomore totaled four points over the weekend including a career-high three-point night in Friday’s 4-3 win over Clarkson.

Camrose, Alberta native and former ‘99 Western Canada Selects forward Kyler Kupka verbally announced his commitment this month, as he plans to attend St. Cloud State University next season.

Current ‘04 Midwest Selects forward Chris Able also announced his commitment earlier this month, well in advance as the 14-year-old plans to join Ohio State University for the 2023-24 season.
